Metronome not keeping good time

Hi,
I'm running Musescore on windows 7.

The metronome doesn't seem to be keeping good time. It's missing the beat slightly sometimes, almost like it's stuttering a bit.

I have 16GB of ram and perfmon shows no performance issues.

Any ideas?
