Formatting Marching Band Music

• Sep 25, 2012 - 00:25

Hello,

I am trying to re-write lost music for my instrument in my school's pep band.
One of the pieces has four separate "cheers" on it. I'd like to be able to jump down to a new staff and start over.
I don't like adding measures and line breaks because the key signature and time signature fall over into the new/previous staff line.

Right now my file has the first cheer finished, and my attempt at starting the second cheer.

Does anyone know how to format a new staff on the same page? I'd really appreciate any help, as well as pointers for formatting the page in general.

Thanks,
-BBX

Turn off courtesy signatures in style / general / page and then new movements won't show new signatures at the end of the previous line.

Btw, I don't k ow if you plan for these to all be unison as opposed to actual arranements, but if you do plan to arrange them for multiple instruments, know that this is possible too, and here are provided templates that might make a good starting place.

Thanks again for the reply, but I can't seem to right click on the measure numbers.

There are only measure numbers at the beginning of each line, when I left click, they do not turn blue like other elements, and when I right click them the same context menu appears as when I click empty page space...

The Vertical Frame looks like a neat idea, cool!

Thanks,
