piano to computer
Hello Im trying to figure out how I can play a tune on the piano keyboard and have that transfer to my music page on my laptop. I have an adapter that plugs into the keyboard and my laptop. I just don't know the next step to take and how to make the notes show up on the laptop when I play.
Then next questions would be can I have a metronome going on the computer while Im playing so it knows when there are rests and what type of note I am playing from a quarter note to triplets to sixtieth notes?

Check the semi real time midi input of the 2.1 nightly builds
Hi. It really can't work that way using only MuseScore, and may be very difficult even if you use a sequencer unless it is quantized very well.

MuseScore can't do this yet, but the next version (2.1) will be able to do basically what you want. Jojo was suggesting you could try a nightly (preview) build of 2.1, which you can download here:

Make sure you download a nightly build of MuseScore 2.1 and not MuseScore "master". The master builds are builds of MuseScore 3 and are not stable enough for regular use at the moment.
Please check out the 2.1 nightly. In spite of the title bar saying it is unstable, it is quite stable and you should never lose your work using it. You can then give feedback on the feature.
