select all notes of same pitch
Is there a plugin that allows for selecting all notes of the same pitch? The reason I'm looking for this is I write scores for my bell choir and I currently have to manually circle notes for each part. So for one person playing all the C5 and D5 notes as an example, I circle all the C5 notes with a blue pen and all the D5 notes with a red pen. If I could select all the C5 notes I could color them blue and then select all the D5 notes and color them red, and then print out their part.

Well that's a godsend. I'm somewhat new to Musescore. How do I get a nightly version? Is that like a beta version?

They are technically like beta versions, but are very reliable. Make sure you get a 2.1 nightly and not a master nightly. They will make files you may not be able to open tomorrow and crash more often.

This is almost working for me. I need to be able to select all notes of the same pitch and then put a symbol around it (like a circle) and then add the color blue to the symbol and the note. I then need to select a different pitch and again, put a symbol around it (maybe a square), but for this one I need to color it red. These correspond to the bell that the ringer holds in their left hand (blue) and their right hand (red).
The Nightly version (btw it's running fine on my PC) allows me to select by pitch, and if I just wanted to color the two different pitches blue and red, I would be done. But just coloring the note heads does not make them visible enough when printing it out. So that's why I want to add a symbol around it.
There are little circles and squares that I added to my note head palette that fit nicely around the note head, but now the problem becomes that I can't select the symbol that I want to use around the blue notes separate from the symbol that I use around the red notes. When I select all similar elements, it selects all the symbols on both the blue and red notes, even if they're different symbols. It simply sees them as symbols.
So I guess what I need is another level of selection when selecting the symbols. Is that possible?

I write and arrange music for a bell choir. But I think I have a solution. I found that if I add the circle (it's actually the "mono audio setup" character in the Bravura font) to a single note, get the horizontal and vertical position set properly, color it blue or red or whatever, and then copy it to my clipboard, I can then select all the notes of a pitch and then paste the symbol from my clipboard onto the note heads. It works like a champ. I'll do a sample and attach it to my next comment in a few minutes.

Attached a sample as a PDF. I suppose if all of the members of our bell choir could read music, I wouldn't need to do this. But it does allow us to bring in folks that really only need some aptitude for rhythm. They just need to know that the blue notes mean "ring the bell in your left hand" and the red notes mean "ring the bell in your right hand." As you can imagine, I spend a fair amount of time doing what we call "circling parts" before we can start practicing a new piece.
Anyhow, it works quite well when each ringer has the entire score with just their notes circled. I will tell you that I almost always miss a few note when circling manually. So this new method should eliminate those errors.
There is one thing that would improve the readability. I wish the "mono audio setup" character was a little fatter, and maybe just a little larger. When I circle manually, I use colored pencils and put a fair amount of lead onto the score.
Can I add another font-set to the symbol fonts in the master palette? Something that has a big, fat circle?
Edit: The person with the attached score would be ringing the F#4 and the G4. But to be correct, handbells are one octave off, so they would be ringing the F#5 and the G5. Hopefully what I'm doing is clear now.

You can add SVG, PNG images (captured or created symbols) to a customized workspace. (Bottom af the palette menu, [+] symbol)
After creating a custom workspace, right click on any palette item and select "Insert new palette."
After named and created, Click and open it.
Shock! It's totally empty :D
You can drag and drop your custom image files from explorer window to this empty place.
If (newly pasted) image is not fit here (may be very big or little), right click on it, and select "properties"; Size and gaps adjustable in this window.

I'm in shock. I'm going to try that right now. Musescore is amazing! I'll attach a sample after I get it working just to finish this thread out. Might be helpful to other bell choir composers/directors.

This just keeps getting better. I just created a PNG circle and what's awesome is that I can make it colored, like blue or red, which is exactly what I need. So I can have a blue one for the notes played by the bell in the left hand, a red one for the right-hand bell, and some of the more experienced players have 3 or 4 bells, so a green one, and so on...hallelujah!
