How do I put set of four Quavers after one Quaver ?

• Mar 29, 2017 - 16:50

I need to put a set of Quavers after a single Quaver. I tried it, but the single quaver is joining the other four. How do I prevent this? In the file I have attached, the first line second-last bar, I need to enter a note like the one on the second line first bar. When I try, the notes join automatically.

If the set of quaver run is going to cross a bar line, you will need to apply (by double clicking or dragging) the one to the left of the one I circled so it will attach to the quavers in the previous measure.

You are describing what I put into measure 9 or measures 10-11. My instructions

Select the first note of the attached quavers and double click the circled beam will start connected quavers.

If the quavers cross a bar like in measures 10-11 use the middle beam (to the left of the one I circled) on the first one in measure 11 by double clicking.

I'm not sure what you want to do. You probably have no instrument defined so it is using the piano. If you play it on the piano that is what you will get. If you change it to a wind or string (such as violin) it will play the entire dotted 1/2 note without fading like the piano does. IF this isn't what you mean then please explain.

edit: cross post again :)
