Page Numbering for my songbook

• Apr 7, 2017 - 17:47

Any way to make my songbook totally in MS, without monkeying around? I don't want to export, import or take screen shots, resize, reboot or confloot. I just want to make a simple songbook.

And I started a thread on Songbook making before and have been told to start new threads for all of my issues. I would simply like to post all of my questions about songbook making in my songbook thread. For example, now I need to know how to make columns. Do i need to start another thread?

Columns are a different problem from page numbering, so yes, best to start a new thread. Otherwise it gets too difficult to follow a single thread with multiple different people responding to unrelated topics. Plus having separate threads, each with a descriptive title, helps people further down the road, as someone else might be wondering about columns but have no interest in songbooks or page numbering, so a single thread entitled "How do I columns" will be far more helpful to them in a search for existing information.

What *specifically* do you need help with? You have a bunch of MSCZ files for your individual songs, I assume? You've created an album from already, or not? If not, do so - see the Handbook to learn how. Page numbering happens automatically in MuseScore - you don't need to do a thing.
So if you need help after creating your album, please be as specific as possible.

But note, MuseScore does *not* do automatic tables of contents, in your previous thread, you indicated that having this was important to you. That is why we suggested using Word. And personally, I still think that's the way to go. In the long run, importing images into Word is dead simple, takes only seconds per score, and you only have to do it once, and now you have your songbook and can do whatever you like with it in terms of adding new songs, changing things around, etc and everything continues to work correctly.
