Inputting notes with M-Audio Keystation49

Hi, Folks -

I'm new to MuseScore and my new Keystation. I can't figure out how to input what I'm actually playing. All the notes just get lumped together without consideration of the time in which it was played.

MuseScore does not currently support real time MIDI input - all input is one note at a time, as explained in the Handbook in the section on note input. That is, select a duration, play a note, select a duration, play a note, etc. The upcoming 2.1 version will have a semi-real-time mode, feel free to try it out by checking out the Download link in the menu at right.
