Project

MuseScore 2.0 build ca11fa6

Started Musescore 2.0 with the default settings
Imported a score from MusicXML (by the way, Musescore 1.2 crashed while trying to import (see this ))
Fixed some errors caused by Audiveris when scanning score
Changed 'Part-1' to 'Violin' and renamed the two parts into 'Violin I' and 'Violin II'
Play
Actual result: no sound
Expected result: lots of sound ;-)

Restarted Musescore 2.0 with the default settings
Played the default example score (Promenade)
Actual result: no sound
Expected result: lots of sound :-)

Started Musescore 1.2 with the default soundfont (not all the default settings, though)
Played a score with one violin part and one piano part (Peer Gynt arranged for the violin and piano)
Actual result: sound (not a lot)
Expected result: sound (not a lot)

My sound system works fine (a tad too fine). My OS is Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 64-bit.

Comments

SOmetimes you have to tell the nightly where to find the Soundfont.

It doesn't always have that information by default.

Simply go to the Synthesiser page and go through the dialogue for installing the soundfont of your choice.

Status (old) active fixed

Thanks. Chose the defualt musescore soundfont from the Musescore sound folder. Sound is on the low side, but that was expected.
