Auto keyboard instrument fingering

• Feb 16, 2013 - 12:40

Hi!

What about a feature or plugin that is setting a fingering suggestion for piano or another keyboard instrument automaticly? I think there must be an algorithm of some kind for the most efficient and easiest fingering...

I play piano and piano accordion. When I want to learn a new piece, I always do the boring part first: Note the best fingering (if I don't have sheets with fingering). When I do this, I will learn the piece much faster, and it becomes easier to memorize for playing without sheets.

Best fingering is personal, but the idea of writing an algorithm to at least suggest something reasonable seems like a very i teresting challenge - wonder if anyone has ever tried this?

The first few days I had MuseScore the videos sounded worse and worse and in a couple days, most did not have audio at all. I called my Tech and he said since MuseScore still worked, the change was probably due to installing it...... it messes with my other program audios....

Finally I noticed the audio levers on the lower left of the videos were all slide to off... So I started turning them on when I wanted to hear something.

Today when I launched my computer, the sound icon was turned off on my lower right tray... (using Windows 7).

I ran a complete virus scan and found nothing....

Anyone have similar problems?

Thanks,
Mickail

I've never heard of anything like this happening and suspect it is just coincidence that this started approximately the same time you installed MuseScore. Since you are presumably watching your videos in your browser, it's more likely a browser plugin or something like that.

BTW, in the future, it's better to start a new thread for questions rather than posting replies to older and unrelated threads.

Marc Sabatella suggested it could be a plug in. I "Googled" it as the recent plug in on Chrome is "Native Client" also called Salt, NaCl...... I haven't tried disabling it, but it is a plug in that is intented to speedup up things for gamers who use audio effects..... Not sure....

To create a new thread in a forum (which is what Marc asked you to do), go to Forums on the right hand side menu, select the appropriate forum, then use the link on top of it that reads "Post new Forum topic".
If you really want to submit a bug report, first read this and notice that 1.x won't receive any further fixes or enhancements, so check whether the particular issue is still present in a recent nightly build .

That YouTube issue is easily solved by just moving the slider left of the crossed speaker symbol to the right.

I've had MuseScore installed for over a year and just noticed a few days ago that YouTube videos were all muted by default. Others have reported issues without any mention of MuseScore:

Still, let's be thankful for small mercies; at least their videos aren't all blue this week on Linux systems.

BTW, you asked a Tech and accepted their theory?
