Transposing Music

I took a piece that was made originally for the Piano and a Drum accompaniment. On the MuseScore application, I am trying to Transpose that piece to be playable for the Violin. Is there a function I'm missing, or can you not change them directly and you just have to improvise?

One way is to right click the piano staff and select staff properties then click the change instrument button. This will make both staves violin. You will then have to decide which notes to keep for the violin then delete the bass clef.

I would probably just press I and add a violin and copy and paste notes into the violin, then tweak it to make sure it's playable on the violin. Depending on how complex the piece is, you may have to make some major decision, or if it's all one line in the violin's range then the first method will do it quickly. You will still need to annotate it for the violin rather than piano - Things like pedal, deciding which slurs are slurs and which are phrase marks among other things.
