extra distance above staff
Once again for the own clearness and comprehension:
There are different ways to change the distance between two separate staffs (not the general staff distance between staffs inside a system):
- using spacers from the "break & spacers" palette
- drag and drop a staff via mouse input
- changing the distance via right click -> staff properties ->extra distance above staff
Especially the last one: Is this a recommendable way to increase the distance between two staffs?
(The reason of my question is, because I'm seldom seeing a recommendation for this way in similar requests in the forum)

The last one will add that space above the staff everywhere. The first will only add the space in the system where the spacer is. I have no idea what you mean by the second.
If by the second you mean shift+drag on a staff, this is the same as extra distance - it controls the distance above that staff score-wide. And if after dragging you go check staff properties, you'll see it has actually set the extra distance.
Spacers, as mentioned, work only on the specific staff/system in question, not score wide.
