Speeding up or slowing down? how to achieve?

Speeding up or slowing down original tempo for playback purposes mainly. For illustration, lets take a tempo such as Moderato entered at the start of the score:

I believe that the way to do this is to add tempo text such as 'accel' or 'rall' or 'rit' (via create/text/tempo/amend text) and change to your desired BPM? I assume the tempo will be constant until you make another tempo entry? If you want to go back to original then you can, for example, add 'a tempo' using create (again via create/text/tempo/amend text) and alter the BTM to original Moderato speed? Is that right?

Also to have more complicated slowing down and speeding up (such as gradual slowing down or speeding up) you need to enter a change whenever/whereever you want it to occur and then try to hide the text? Is that about right and the only possibility in 1.3?

You're also right to have written "in 1.3" above :-). I don't think playback of "rit" et al has been implemented *yet*, and I don't know if it will happen for 2.0, but I know it's been a common request and is being considered; I figure it's just a matter of time. Fermata playback, FWIW, *is* already in 2.0.
