Get rid of vertical bar lines
Hi,
In some of my sheet music I have vertical bar lines that traverse the space between the treble and the bass clef, drawing a straight line where the lyric is typed. In some of my sheet music there are no such vertical lines. How do I turn this off? Thanks.

double-click one of them and then shorten it using the handle. The others should follow automagically. Basically the opposite of what is described in https://musescore.org/en/handbook/barlines#connect-barlines

Or changing the value for spanned staves in the inspector.
