Adding staff to part of the score
Is there any way to add a staff halfway through? I want to write a harmony line to a chorus, but not to the verse and it seems a waste of space to have a lot of bars full of rests. Or is the only way to put the harmony on the same staff as another voice?

You can add another instrument, add the notes you need for the chorus, and then enable "hide empty staves" under Style/General. As you suggest, a separate voice might work as well.
