Adding palette items to top menu

• Sep 17, 2013 - 10:25

I think we should add palette items to the top menu, mainly in 'Add'.

It could be good for those who want the full selection available and without taking up space.

What do others think?

Using MuseScore 2.0 Nightly Build (b1aa490) - Mac 10.7.5.

How do you see this working? Do you mean having every single palette item also accessible as a menu command - perhaps duplicating the palette structure? Would that work for custom palette items too?

For items that can applied by selecting elements in the score and then double clicking the palette item, this seems fairly straightforward to imagine. Not sure what it would mean for lines, also could be tricky with measure-attached items like the things on the repeats palette, etc.

Or maybe it would have to be a more limited selection?

I'm attracted to the idea to the extent it might give a relatively cheap way of making the palette more keyboard accessible. I suspect it's not that cheap though.
