Since I upgraded to version 2.1 my midi keyboard is inconsistent. I often have to close the program and restart it several times to get any sound from the keyboard or to be able to input notes.
This happens on no matter what computer I use
In order to help, we would need precise steps to reproduce the problem. Be sure you are starting MuseScore *after* connecting and turning on your keyboard. Also be sure your keyboard isn't stuck in some mode where it isn't transmitting normally. Do a Help / Revert to Factory Settings in MuseScore, and do the equivalent with your keyboard if you can.
