Use of one instrument contra several instruments in the same score
I want to arrange a song with a verse which is only one single voice (soprano), but the refrain is 4 voices (SATB)
How can I put in a break before the refrain so that the verse is shown with only soprano line and the refrain is shown with SATB.

Style/General.../Score->Hide empty staves
To put in the break, see the Breaks & Spacers palette. Or just click the barline where you want the break then hit Enter. Then once all the music is entered you can use "hide empty staves" as suggested.
