Default Measures display w/ radically different spacing after first 20 measures

• Oct 21, 2013 - 00:16

I couldn't find anything in the manual on this, an odd problem, here goes: I'm creating some lead sheets, when I set the # of measures, beyond about 20 measures, the measures start to display in compressed manner, at about 1/5 normal size... i.e., all squnched up. I've been in and out of the settings, can't see any setting to control this, it appears to be the Layout Stretch---but I don't want to have to go in to each individual measure and adjust this. I don't see any "global setting" for this, and I don't want to go into each individual measure and set the Layout Stretch manually.

Why does the layout change so radically after ~measure 20? Is there a way to just get the whole danged document to display at normal sizing? Attached is an image of what I'm talking about.

Jm, thanks--- doing chord charting/band lead sheets, w/ some melodic entries here and there. What's odd, is the program auto-generated 4 measures a stave for the first 20 measures---by itself...

i.e, I hadn't entered anything, yet; then it goes to the odd compressed-measure mode; again all by itself. Just seems odd--- thx for your input

It doesn't auto generate 4 measures per line - I can see in your screen shot that there are explicit line breaks. These would have been created manually, perhaps via plugin, or maybe you started with a template that contained line breaks already.
