Anyway to add lyrics w/o attaching to a note
I am just trying to make a basic chart for a piano player.
I'm gonna put guitar chords under each measure so they can follow along with the song structure, they would have the staff there if needed to write anything in. I would like to add the lyrics to the sections of the song where they will be singing harmony.
Is there a way to add lyrics without attaching them to notes?

Generally, lyrics require notes so they know how to format. If you want them formatted as actual lyrics would be, you will need to enter notes, which can then make invisible.
If you don't need the usual lyrics formatting, then you can just enter them as staff text via Ctrl+T.
BTW,m note guitar chords are normally written *above* the staff, not below. If you put them below (which you certainly can by editing the settings in Style / General / Chord Symbols), then it becomes rather cluttered and confusing if you also try to enter lyrics. I wouldn't recommend this.
