Crescendo & Diminuendo

Dynamics seem to not affect notes that are already being held, which means that, for example, if I want a crescendo over a semibrieve, it the note will stay at the same volume during its entire length.

I'd like to request that this be changed so that in the future it will be possible to make crescendo/diminuendo affect notes that are being held.
