Flip stems
I wonder how to flip stems for example sopran and alt to up and down staves.
I know the way of mark one note for example C and then press C and after that X.
I think most of the time bort sopran and alt follow each other.

If you put soprano and alto on the same staff, you can use voice. See Voices .
Voice 1 will always be stem up and voice 2 stem down.

Thank you for trying to help me. The problem is that it is not possible every time. Both sopran and alt is going at the same direction.
I however found this by searching in another part of the forum when waiting for answer of my question.

This behaviour is intentional. Once you modified the beam, its position is "user defined" and "flip" has no meaning anymore for the layout routine. If you reset the beam by selecting and entering Ctrl+R then flip-x does work again.
For cross staff beams flip-x also has no meaning as usually the beam is positioned between upper and lower staff notes.
When moving the beam up/down with the first handle in edit mode the note stems are set automatically right.
Question is to change behaviour of "flip" to always delete all user settings first and the actually swich to standard layout "up" or "down".

What do you mean "it is not possible every time"? It is *always* possible to use voice 1 for soprano and voice 2 for alto, and if you do this, it *always* makes stems up for soprano and stems down for alto by default. And as far as I can tell, it *always* works to use X to flip the stem of any individual note, even if the beam has been modified. Might not have been possible in 2009, but it seems to be in 2013.
It would be best if you could post a score you are having trouble with, and describe *exactly* what you are trying to do.

If I use the X key on some notes (manually) then by Style / Voices I can no longer flip all stems together ?

And if you use the old [Ctrl]X, [Ctrl]Z trick it puts them all back to default directions:
Select the measure.
[Ctrl]X to delete.
[Ctrl]Z to undelete.

I am sorry not to explain so good. I only take sopran and alt as an example for understanding.
It can be bigger ackords with some notes who have staves pointing up and some others down. They tend to follow each other when I mark one note and press X or use the button at the top. When I change one then the other follows. I want some note staves to point up and others down. With bigger ackords it is not so easy as if you have sopran and alt as in my example.
You can do that in for example Smartscore. But Musescore is perfect for me in many other ways.
I have used Musescore 1.2 in my work now. I will try the new version. Perhaps it is solved there.
Now I have tried version 1.3 and it function to mark any note and use X to flip the direction of the stave.

Well, yes, if you have several notes all in one chord in the same voice, then they share a single stem, and X affects that stem, so changing stem for one affects them all. That is why you need to use Voices , so the notes you want to have stems up can be in one voice and the notes you want to be stems down can be in another.
Again, it would be easiest to help you if you would post an example showing exactly what you are trying to accomplish. Then we can show you how to do it.
