Missing short/long instrument name of the score has only one instrument and staff line

I'm using the appimage MuseScoreNightly-201708250806-master-f67d627-x86_64.AppImage in Fedora-26 Linux
and see the following problem: If the score has only 1 instrument and stave live, the the short and long instrument names are not viewable on the mscore desktop. Only if I add an instrument, the long/short names will be displayed.
