Instrument naming
In the S.O.S. file, I can only distinguish between trumpet 1 and 2 in the second system, not right from the start. I did try to correct the staff properties for each of them.
Kindly assist? How do I correct it in future?

I assume you are talking about the long and short instruments names, in your score they are set to the same thing, so not even in the 2md system the trumpets have a different name. Check whether the attached is what you want

Thank you, Jo-Jo. Spot on! How do I fix it in future? My earlier request this morning also had to do with:
For the first time ever I have imported midi files of scores created in Sibelius into MuseScore. All went well, except that the Bb trumpets are on the correct pitch, it sounds right, but the key signature is wrong. Same goes for F horn. If I try to correct the key signature to prevent accidentals , it goes haywire...
The same applies to this score...

Right click into the staff, staff properties, in that dialog changed long and short instrument names
Why MIDI import rather them MusicXML?
When changing keysig, don't additionally press shift
