Instrument names
I am creating exam resources and I need to have a staff which has multiple instruments on it. This is to create a reduced score example for study purposes. Is there a way to edit or change the instrument name at the start of the line (other than deleting it and adding own text?)

This is my first attempt. I don't need the instruments to play/sound correctly - it will only be used asd a pdf.
Right-click into the staff, staff properties, then change long and short instrument name to your likings, see https://musescore.org/en/handbook/staff-properties.
While at it you can also adjust the amateur and professional ranges (esp. for the violin+viola staff) to prevent notes being marked amber or red due to not be in the playable range of the actual instrument.
