Repositioning Chord Symbols
After upgrading to R8917b06 Nightly build of MuseScore I have not been able
to reposition the chord symbols en bloc from the top of the stave to a
position below the stave. I write music for the Accordion on a single stave
and prefer the chords to be below the stave. I can move single chords fine
also move them en bloc side wards.
I find that not being able to move the chords downwards en bloc is a
retrograde step as I have been able to do this on my previous upgrade.
On the plus side it is a great time saver to be able to select all similar
items, but when selecting 'All Similar Items in Same Stave' it selected them
on all the staves.
Your comments on the above would be much appreciated. Thank you.
I have been using 'Music Publisher' for several years but find this to be a
much superior program in many ways.

Why don't you just change the default position of chord symbols via their style setting?

Thank you Jojo for your quick reply. I tried changing the style to Jaz chords but with the same result.
However, I have now found a way to move the chords to a position below the stave by right clicking on one of the chord symbols and on the drop down menu Select 'All Similar Elements' then press Ctrl on the key board, click on a chord and holding the mouse button down, release the Ctrl button and drag the chords down. One must release the Ctrl button in this case, otherwise you cannot move the chords,this is where I made the mistake. Thank you once again.

I meant Style->Text->Chord Symbol->Vertical Offset->10 (e.g. should result in the same distance to staff, just below)

Many thanks Jojo, have tried your way and it works a treat. I can set it and forget it, hopefully.
Also, just to be sure - select similar on same staff *does* work as it should as far as I know., Which is to say, if you have a score consisting of several instruments, it will select only the elements on the staff for the current instrument. So only the accordion staff, not a guitar staff, for instance. But it does affect that staff on all *systems*. If you only want the current system affected, the "more..." option gives you a dialog that allows this. Although in many cases, you might find drag-select or ctrl-select simpler.
BTW, you can also move chords as a group using the Inspector. I'm guessing you had been using Text Properties, but this capability was removed recently because most of the settings don't actually apply to chord symbols.

Many thanks for your interest and information. I must admit I have not used the 'Inspector' so I must investigate this to see what it can do with regards to moving chords.

Inspector is one the important new developments in 2;0. It replaces most of the old right click menu and dialog options, giving you direct control over most settings. I think the intent is that you would leave it up all the time - it's that useful, at least when doing layout adjustments.
