How do you make the tenor drums make noise?

• Sep 23, 2017 - 21:20

I've downloaded the DRM file for the tenor drums (because the lower drums don't make any noise) and tried to load in the file but it doesn't let me. When I downloaded the DRM file, it saved it as a .xml file, and I had to change it from there to be a .drm file but MuseScore still wouldn't let me load it into the tenor instrument.

Any suggestions? I think there must be some way to change the .xml file to a .drm file because MuseScore apparently thinks that the file is a .xml

I saved it to the styles folder and
It didn’t work, and then I tried uploading it to the soundfont folder and trying to load it from there, and it still didn’t work. I think the system thinks the file is a .xml file so it adds the extension to the file whenever I save it and I can’t change it back

I'm not sure what operating system you are on, but there should be 2 MuseScore folders on you computer. One folder is where the MuseScore application is located, the other is where your scores are located.

On Windows, you can right click the MuseScore Icon and if it is on the taskbar right click MuseScore2 from the popup menu and chose preferences. A new window will appear, click the Open File Location button and a file explorer window will open showing the MuseScore application. There is a button to the left of the address bar that allows you to navigate up to the next higher folder. In this folder you will find a folder called instruments. This is the folder you are looking for. That is where you want to put the instruments.xml file, just be sure to rename one of the files so you don't overwrite the original.

If you have another operating system please tell us what it is so someone using it can give you directions.
