Menu's not working on nightlies on Windows XP-SP3
I tried the nightlies from 2014-05-20, 21 and 22. They install and the program runs, but none of the menu;s respond. Is there a known problem with Windows XP-SP3? Otherwise the program appears to work well.

I wonder whether this is a Qt issue? Maybe Qt 5.3 drooped support for Windows XP (just like Microsoft did)?

I checked the Qt website, and they state that they have only tested with Windows 7 and 8.x with the MSVC 2012 compiler. They also state that it is known that Qt works well with Windows XP and MSVC 2008 compiler. The question becomes what compiler are the nightlies done with and does it support windows XP.

I can't imagine the compiler used for MuseScore itself would affect the behavior of menus - more likely, it's the compiler used for Qt that's question. So you'd have to ask the Qt folks what compiler was used for the binary installation they provide. And even then, it doesn't seem likely that this would affect anything, either. Qt 5.3 either works on XP or it doesn't. Is anyone else trying to run a nightly build on XP that can say if it's working for them?
For the record, MuseScore itself uses MinGW, not MSVC. But since we don't compile Qt ourselves, this can't really be relevant.

You advertise that the nightlies are available for XP and it is the projects responsibility that all used outside sources also work with XP. Either that our you should announce that Musescore is no longer available for XP.

If that 'you' addresses Marc personally (and the English language is pretty ambiguous here): no, he is not the one who advertises the nightlies to be available for XP, nor responsible to announcing that it is not. If 'you' addresses the MuseScore community, you may be right, but you could also say 'we' instead, as you (personally) are a part of it.
You (personally) did your job in reporting an issue, but so far you are the only one, we (the community) need confirmation.
On the other hand it is you (personally) to be responsible to run a decent, secure and supported OS ;-)
I have just now tried the nightly build 8c7a103 from 30May2014, and the 2nd to last nightly, 8c7a103, from 6Jun2014 (the last is know not to work at all on Windows) on Windows XP Pro SP3 and either work just fine. So the problem may be something on your PC.
