Adding whole-measure rests

• Jan 4, 2018 - 17:37

MuseScore automatically adds whole-measure rests to blank measures in Voice 1 mode, but not in other voices. How do I add a whole-measure rest to a Voice 2 measure? Especially when the measure is not a common multiple, such as 5:8 or 12:8 or 3:4.
In the attached example, whole-measure rests have been automatically added to Voice 1 of m. 23 Soprano, m. 25 Tenor & Bass, etc. I need to add whole measure rests to Voice 2 of m. 26-29 Tenor. How do I do that?

A more direct, but not necessarily quicker, way is to add regular rests to the measure then select the measure and use the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+Delete. This replaces any existing rests in any voice with full measure rests if possible (i.e., if the voice consists of nothing but rests for that measure).
