problem with song being played back at an inconsistent tempo

• Jan 21, 2018 - 20:02

Yes, I'm new and still am learning how to use this program... I'm composing a song, so I've used the play panel to slow and speed up the tempo while trying to figure out how to write or add in parts of the song for different instrument parts (slowing down the part played that I'm trying to write the part for and speeding it up to hear the part before to hear how the song progresses)...While doing this, I also have been changing the sound for each instrument in the mixer by adjusting the volume, panning, etc for each instrument, and have also edited the notation of some parts or added new notes to a part. After doing all this, I find that if I play back the song, the tempo is very inconsistent whereas it wasn't before. I don't or haven't added any tempo changes, ritardos, etc...and changed the tempo back on the play panel to what I wanted, but still have problems with the song slowing down and speeding up when played...wondering what I did that might have caused this? : S

If you didn't add a tempo text or similar into your score, I would quit the application and start it again. All tempo and mixer settings should be as before.

If the described behavior still occur after restarting MuseScore attache as mentioned the score, you've trouble with.

I can't hear an inconsistent tempo in your score.

Okay, you've saved the mixer settings to the score (and you can reset it by double clicking on the dials), but I guess, it's intentional and this doesn't seem your request.

I also notice the popping sounds with MuseScore 2.1 but as you know (https://musescore.org/en/node/196881) , this will be fixed in the next version of MuseScore and you can test it with a quite stable development version of MuseScore 2.2 (from the Download page). But also nothing to do with an inconsistent tempo.

Could describe, where you notice it (which measures)? Does it occur with other scores too? If so, you can also try out: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/revert-factory-settings.
