Mixer preset profiles saving

• Feb 21, 2018 - 10:04

Among other tasks I run for my choristers, I have to export from my scores the 4 differents MP3 workfile for the benefit of each choir panel, as many cannot read music.

Do do that, in order that each panel could easily perceive its voice, I use to set all the voices to "Ahh choirs" with an ouput volume set to 50%, except for the the specific panel I want the MP3 for which I chose the Oboe instrument with a 100% volume level. I have to make these settings one after the other for each voice which is really boring, and always the same operations.

So if it was possible in the "Mixer" window, to save the current settings in a memory bank with a label (Soprano workfile, Alto workfile, etc.) and reload them easily, that kind of work would be really simplified

Could somebody consider implementing such a feature?

Thanks

I have an idea. rightClick on the text with the instrument name you want to name, select staff properties, you'll see a table pop up. One line under the "change instrument" , there should the words "instrument part" and a text box with the instrument name in the mixer already there... rename what name you want to see in the mixer in that text box next to where it says "instrument part" and you'll should see it appear in the mixer after hitting ok

Adria,
that you for your feedback,
what you say is perfectly true, but I afraid I did not make myself clear in my initial question ; what I would like to do, is to memorize a set of parameters of the mixer in sort of a bank of settings in order to reselect it at once when necessary.

I will put it another way, with an example.

Let's say I have to work with four singers (Sarah, is soprano, Aimie is Alto, Terry is Tenor, and Barney is Bass) for whom I prepare a lot of workfiles.
For each song I prepare for them, once the score is written into Musescore, I export a different MP3 file for each of them.
For Sarah, I select for Soprano 100% volume and a sound Oboe, while all other voices are at 70% volume with a sound Ahh Choir,
For Aimie, I select for Alto voice : 100% volume and a sound Oboe, while all other voices set at 70% volume with a sound Ahh Choir,

And so one,

So, If I could have sort of a memory bank in which I could memorize the settings for Sarah, Aimie, etc. I would not be obliged to change forth and back the volume levels and sound each time I have to export my MP3s

In other words, Nothing very different from what is called a Style in Micosoft Word

You can create a template for each of your singers. The person for whom each score is being made needs to have the sounding instrument (such a oboe for Sara) with the names changed appropriately and the mixer settings as you want.

See: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/create-new-score#User-template-folder

Creating a score for an individual should be rather straightforward. Open the score, select anything in it and press ctrl+a to select everything and copy it. Then open an empty score based upon the singer and paste the score. MuseScore will add measures to as needed for the score. You may need to adjust time, and key, and tempo changes in the new score.
