Low note becomes high note on staff under it
I am making a score for a concert band. When I try to add a low note for bass clarinet, it becomes a very high note for the staff under it which is the alto saxophone part. How can I stop this?

Use the keyboard to enter the note rather than the mouse. If it ends up an octave high then press ctrl+ the down arrow to lower it an octave.
