Percusion: guiro
Hi
Does anyone know whether it is possible to obtain the scraping, ratchet sound on the guiro .. as far as I can see you can just use it to create a percussive sound (like clave etc).

General MIDI defines two sounds for guiro - pitch 73 for short, 74 for long. So just define both of these in your drumset, as documented in the Handbook under "Drum notation"
