Scores have no sound! Help!

I just updated Musescore to the 2.2 version (Musescore 3) but there is no sound and I can't hear any of my scores. I tried restarting my computer, but none of my scores will play. I'm not sure if this is a glitch in the update, but I hope it can be resolved soon!

See #270996: No sound on upgrade to 2.2 if default soundfont was saved as default . The installer forgot to link the new soundfont, but you can easily do that manually:

  1. Open a score
  2. Go to View → Synthesizer
  3. Make sure the Fluid Tab is active
  4. At the bottom-right of that area, press the Add button
  5. You should now see a list with MuseScore_General.sf3 in it. Double click it
  6. It should now be added into the Fluid listing
  7. At the bottom, press the Save as default button
  8. You can now close the synthesizer window again and restart MuseScore
