Time signatures & Midi import
I'm trying to import a song with from a MIDI arrangement. On previous occasions, I've gotten this to work, with a little fussing. This time it isn't going well. There are about 8 instruments in the arrangement. The original song is in 6/8 but MuseScore assumes it's in 4/4 when it does the import. I can change the key signature to 6/8, but now all the instruments start on the wrong beat. I'm trying to figure out how to insert a pickup measure, but can't figure out how. If I try to insert rests in a full measure, the rests seem to over-write notes, instead of moving all the notes over. I'm wondering if there's a way to tell MuseScore the MIDI arrangement is in 6/8 but that doesn't seem possible either. Please advise. Thanks!

That's very kind of you. I'm moderately competent with MuseScore andI probably need just a hint or two. I hate to put you to all that trouble. The basic question is: How do I bump all the parts in a complete score one beat, or one and a half beats, to the right? Is that even possible?

Cut and paste all of the notes to the new location.
