Still time to make suggestions to go into 2.3?
Hi everyone.
Apparently, one of MuseScore 2.3's focuses is the improvement percussion support. I would like to know whether there is still time for user interface changes. I was looking to make some suggestions regarding drumsets that I hope would greatly improve usability, especially for the people new to MuseScore and/or drum notation.
Regards,
Robbie

Just go ahead, even if it wouldn't make it into 2.3, it might be useful for 3.0, so the effort is not wasted

Okay, thanks. Will do!
It would be cool to have an instrument with just an Arco channel for violin, viola, and cello that has treble, c clef, and bass clef for staffs...and three total channels instead of 9...incase people want all the string instruments for a wider range of notes in pitch without pizzacato or tremelo. Maybe have "electric violin" as another instrument too. ..and saw sequencer would be cool too.
Minor suggestions for the coloring...perhaps be able to not only color groups or verses different colors but also be able to do that for staff lines (rather than one part have a particular staff color for the whole song.
Also, if people like to have color coordinated notes, perhaps be able to select a feature that has all the notes and select s default color for aletter note (example, all Cs are red, Ds are Orange, Es are yellow, etc)...and if one really wanted to get anal, perhaps even have a specific color choice for C in different octaves (middle c is red, high c is dark red, low C is light red) and even sharps. Another idea might be to be able to highlight a part's background for each part....like having a yellow background for a piano part and the next line might have a white background...whether people want to highlight every other instrument part the same color or highlight specific parts different colors.

It'd be another wayv to easily sort out groups using both highlight and staff line colors...for instance, all woodwind instruments might be highlighted yellow but flute would have black staff lines, oboe would have red staff lines, and bassoon would have blye staff lines for instance to be able to distinguish each instrument part but still easily see different instrument groups (for instance woodwinds highlighted yellow , brass highlighted lime or light green, strings highlighted cyan, etc).

You can already select all notes of a given pitch and color them however you like - use right-click, Select / More / Same note name, then use the Inspector to select the desired color.
Highlighting in color is something I'd like to see for various reasons as well - not just entire parts, but ideally, selections as well. You can get this now by using a Line from the palette, making it wide enough, and setting the line color to something partially transparent. But a more direct method would be nice some day.
