Cannot open/save mscz from/to USB drive

• Jun 18, 2018 - 17:23

I work on two computers, so I like to keep the .mcsz file on my USB flash drive
and edit it in place. However, Musescore 2.2's Open Dialog and Save Dialog
show only folders on the hard drive! This forces me to be transferring
the file back and forth, which I can forget to do...

Is there any way to get Musescore to do this? I searched and could not find any
other posts on the problem.

Thanks, ( BTW,awesome program!)

If you want to stabilize the path I think that, from Preferences, you can set the folder (But maybe I did not well understand)
For example, use the portable version

I save my scores into a directory that is synced with with/via a cloud service, in my case on box.com, but Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, etc. should do the same trick. That way I can access them from multiple devices, PC, laptop, tablet, mobile...

The Open and Save dialog will show whatever folders your OS reports as being present. Depending on your OS, you might need to click something on the left like "This PC" (Windows) or the like to see other drive, but it should work in a similar manner as any other program on your system.

Marc and all,

I discovered the answer. I am using Linux, and my USB
drive shows up in the /media folder. I am relatively
new to Linux,..but I can open from and save to the drive now!

Thanks for all your quick replies. Tells me that the Musescore
community is responsive and helpful..
