Importing Work Title

• Jun 19, 2018 - 17:35

I have changed the title in file-> score properties ->work title, but the title is still showing up as the original title created when the score was initially created. Uploading the files.

Changing the properties of the score unfortunately does not change anything that is entered as text rather than markup (such as the $ codes in headers and footers). So you must change all other occurrences manually.

If you mean the title inside of the score, select it and press ctrl+e to put it into edit mode and retype it. If you mean the name of the file, it depends on the operating system and is done the same as any other file. The name in the score tab is the same as the name of the file.

I am using the latest version of MuseScore downloaded on my Mac. I created 106 exercises and changed the name of each exercise by going to File -> Score Properties -> and entering in the correct name for each exercise under "Work Title". When I imported these exercises to an online practice program, only some of the titles are importing. How do I change the name of the title in MuseScore so it will upload correctly? I have tried editing the title on the score itself (CMND + "E").

So the question is, where is the other program getting the title for each score. It obviously does not get it from the Score properties. It looks as though the other program is probably using the title of the score inside of MuseScore.

To change to match what you have in the score properties (in the file you up loaded the title would be "MusicFirst String Scales and Arpeggios"), you must manually change the score inside of MuseScore by selecting it, and pressing ctrl+e to edit the title.

BTW, you left out the j in Major in the score properties.
