Unable to open projects because of crash

After updating to the latest version (2.3.1), everytime I try to use the 'open' function, it will load and then nothing will pop up. Occasionally, it will open and display all my scores, but upon trying to open them, the program will crash. After trying to open Musescore again, it will take a REALLY long time to start up, and when it does, the problem still persists. I didn't use the 'look for update' thing, (I didn't know it existed until I checked) and tried to just install Musescore again to get the update. Did I mess up?
