Piano roll edits not preserved/represented in musxml?
Is my experiment indicating that the former has no manifestation in the latter all there is to say about this? (That is, edits to the lengths of notes made in the Piano Roll Editor are not represented (or thus preserved) in Music XML)?

I'd be extremely surprised if any such playback fine-tuning adjustments were represented in the MusicXML export. Not even sure how much it's possible; as MusicXML is at least as much notation-focused as MuseScore is.

I guess the latter is what I was asking, and what you say makes sense; in fact, it is more desirable for music analysis from XML if playback-fine-tuning is indeed absent.

There is some allowance for playback info via optional tags. For instance, I see an "attack" attribute with a description of "Offset from starting time for playback, in divisions". But I'm not sure overall how well what they provide maps to what we do.

There is, in fact, a corresponding "release" (see "complex note"), I just found by researching "attack". It requires that "divisions" be fine enough to express it, though....(and at least neither corrupts the notated note duration).
