How to download MuseScore language files separately

• Aug 25, 2018 - 12:18

G'day everyone

I'm trying to discuss the Afrikaans translation of MuseScore with the translator, but my MuseScore installation does not appear to want to update the language files.

The modified date of the .qm files in Program Files (x86)\MuseScore2\locale are in April this year, even though I've tried to update the language via both Edit > Preferences and Help > Resource Manager. In both cases, Afrikaans says "No update available" (or something like that).

In addition, the list of languages show that the language files are in a file named "locale_af.zip" but I have no such file on my computer.

Also, when I try to download the Afrikaans files "for use" from Transifex, I get a TS file, which doesn't help either. Yes, I have installed the latest MuseScore and yes I have restarted MuseScore.

So, is it possible to download the language files separately, and if so, where should they go on my Windows computer? If not, how can I force MuseScore to update to the latest language files (and where would they be saved, so that I can go check if they have indeed been updated)?

Thanks
Samuel

The translator sent me screenshots of his installation of MuseScore, and his MuseScore has a lot more of the UI translated than mine.
