MuseScore never deletes score files. Most likely you dimply saved it to a different folder than where you are looking. Try File / Open Recent. If it's not listed there, try using your operating system's file search facilities to look for ".mscz" files and it should turn up. If you are using an older version of MuseScore you experienced a crash at some point while working on this score and then restored it and didn't do a "save as" to place the recovered score somewhere reasonable, it is probably saved somewhere rather unexpected.
