Merging Two different scores with different patterns

• Oct 2, 2018 - 16:48

Hi, I'm new to musescore. I've been using this to aid our Music Ministry in getting mp3, mp4 adn pdf copies of our song line ups. However with this task I am given for this week, the song piece itself has a general treble clef (used for the intro of the song) and SATB pattern (for the 4 main voices that we have). I need help in putting them in one piece of score sheet. The intro and the SATB has to come together in a single song piece. What I have done so far is to notate the intro first, then on a separate sheet is the SATB content.

Is there anyway to put them together just like how on the image attached is?
(that is the song i am encoding into musescore as well)

Put all of the staves in a song. Enter all of the notes. Use Style->General "Hide Empty staves" and uncheck "Don't hide empty staves in first system."

Neither of these scores seems to be set up the way we suggested, with all five staves present and notes only entered where you want them. What you need to do is add a fifth staff to the SATB version. Then after inserting the empty measures where you want them, copy the music from the intro there. Then turn on Hide empty staves, and the SATB staves that are empty during the intro will disappear, and the fifth staff that is empty for the rest of the piece will disappear.

when i started with this task, i first encoded the intro part, since i am not that familiar with the technicalities of the software yet and i was lost while trying to add the satb onto the intro sheet, i then, started to do the SATB pattern thinking if there is any possible way to put them together..

thanks for your suggestion will work on it then. <3

Start with a SATB template when you create your score, or change the voice in an existing score. Add the other instrument (or voice if you're using a female voice for this) using the instruments dialog (press i to see it). Enter ALL of the notes into every measure on all instruments, then hide empty staves. You will then have it set up the way your picture shows.
