Muting section of score
I'm trying to write for my orchestra and in a section the violins have a rhythm they need to clap so I've changed the noteheads accordingly I was just wondering if for that section of the score that the violins could be muted so that you don't hear the off key rhythm they are supposed to be clapping?

If you want to mute the sound of violins when they clap, select the place you want, select a note, right clic, select all same elements in that selection, all your "clap" notes become blue, and in the INSPECTOR unchek LECTURE.
If you want to hear the clap with a "clap" sound, create a new stave, for clap and put your notes of clap in, and if you want make this stave invisible.
