Can't delete repeat

I added a repeat to a measure that ended in an eighth rest then added a line break. The repeat then appeared before the eighth rest followed by the line break. I could delete the line break but not the repeat that came before the "and" of 4. I can add a another repeat to the measure which looks normal and also delete it but this repeat before the last eighth note in the measure won't go away.
