MS3 Crashes when trying to change I/O Settings from "Use Jack Audio" to "PortAudio"

• Dec 29, 2018 - 17:53

Not much more to say than after I've ticked portaudio, then press apply or ok, there is a slight pause and then MS3 crashes, meaning I have no way to change back from Jack Audio Output (which currently isn't working!

I don't believe this is the same problem actually.

That issue that you just linked is regarding musescore not STARTING with WDM-KS audio devices installed. My issue is that once I'd changed the I/O settings in "Preferences" from "Portaudio" to 'JACK Audio', it isn't recognised in JACK, so I decided to try and switch it back to portaudio, after ticking the 'Portaudio' box and pressing 'Apply', Musescore thinks for a minute and then crashes, after I restart musescore, the preferences are set back to 'JACK Audio', meaning that at the moment, I can't hear playback through Musescore 3.0...

I've tried a re-install etc. that didn't work.

Thanks for your reply!
