I opened a file saved in musescore 2.3 and then saved with ctrl-s. It saved it in a different location, which looks like the new musescore default location: This PC\Documents\MuseScore3\Scores. However, I had not entered a new location and it was a surprise to me when I reopened the score from the original location and none of my changes were in the file. It's probably just as well this time (since I've had to abandon MuseScore 3.0 and go back to 2.3 due to the large number of defects in 3.0), but it wasn't the expected behavior. When I open a file, make changes, and save it, I expect it to save to the same location.

It is by design that a) it uses the preferences (and those indeed change their defaults between versions, but of course you can change those) and b) that it tries to avoid overwriting 2.x scores with 3.0 ones
