Musescore 3 not working. It says I need the new Mac OS 10.12, but I can't download it because my Apple Password isn't working.
Musescore hasn’t been letting me save anything, so I kept going to “Save As” and replacing the old file. It might be because there’s no storage on my computer. I ended up downloading the newest version of musescore 3, but now I’m unable to open musescore because I have to have newest Mac update. My computer won’t let me update because my Apple ID password isn’t working. I tried contacting apple, and they were no help.
Now I’m unable to open my musescore file that I’ve spent a lot of time on.
Is there any way someone can help me out? Can you please check to see if you're able to open Eureka Octet?
Thank you,
Dylan

I remember when I downloaded the new musescore, it asked me if I'd like to replace the old musescore and I said "yes". I wonder if that has anything to do with this. There's a question mark over my Musescore 3 icon and if I click on it, it won't open. I asked two other people to try and open "Eureka octet" and they had to download the new musescore and update their computer, but it says "Cannot read file /Users/dylanhayes/Documents/MuseScore2/Scores/Eureka Octet.mscz:". This is exactly what it says when I try to open mine.

Same for me when I tried, see https://musescore.org/en/node/52116

That file has last been saved witrh MuseScore 2.0.3.1 (a Mac specific version), so nothing to do with 3.0. The mscx inside the mscz is truncated, ends prematurely, and it might be possible to manually fix it, broken mscx extracted and attached.

Maybe because of OPs

Oh, missed that, yes, that (a full disk) certainly might explain both, the trincated score an the inability to update macOS to 10.12

What are OPs?
In reply to What are OPs? by Dylan Hayes
It should be OP's - the Original Poster's
Just as an addendum: you don't need a valid Apple ID to update your operating system. Just boot into internet recovery and install the latest OS available for your machine (see here in the fine Apple Support Documentation: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204904)
Can someone PLEASE help me? I really need to recover these two files.
Here's my email: dylanhayesmusic@gmail.com
Maybe someone can skype or call me to help.
Thank you,
Dylan

Which 2 files? Here I see only one?
The other you mentioned in https://musescore.org/en/node/62451#comment-884599 is 0 bytes, nothing fixable there.
Attached a fixed version of that one score, I had to remove the Piano part, but that was incomplete/truncated and broken anyhow, So I've just regenerated it, this will have gotten lost of layout changes you applied, so check closely

Can you open it with WinZip or 7Zip and extract the mscx? Have you checked for a backup or autosave version?
See https://musescore.org/en/node/52116

Nope, not fixable. All zeroes.
@Timothy: which version of MuseScore have you used to create this file?
