How do I make my advanced staff properties the default for all new staffs?
I'd like to keep the option circled in the attached screenshot "Pitch names" on by default, rather than having to retroactively apply them to each staff of each score I open.
This is meant to be more of a visual aid than a stylistic choice for printing out, so maybe I'm using the wrong option. I know I can read the name of the note currently highlighted, and I know that I should honestly just learn my stave spaces a little better, but for now it would be really nice if I could have this option on by default.
Thanks in advance

By using a template?

But if I want to go back and change existing scores, will a template work in this situation? It's easy enough to make this the default for new scores but is there a way to apply this quickly to existing scores without having to change each staff?

Copy and paste to a new score works if you don't have time signature changes. You would have to fix all of the system type items also, like rehearsal marks, tempos, key signatures and so forth.
It's easier to just change the option in the staff properties.

I wish you could ctrl+change multiple staffs at once.
There's a template drop down in the advanced staff properties but I'm not sure how to make a new template. It seems to only allow me to reset the properties to standard. Perhaps it is a placeholder for a future feature? I searched the manual but didn't find anything about this particular dialog window.

It's mostly used with tablature, whch has a lot more display options than a standard staff.
