Is a transcribed piece of music (like the original being from Kyle Landry) legal to download and use?
Hi, I wanted to download some piano music that has been transcribed from pieces Kyle Landry arranged, but I wanted to make sure it was okay for me to do so legally and whether or not I needed the transcribing author's permission (the license says none (and then all rights reserved)?

IANAL, but I believe download and (personal) use is legal, publishing it is not, whether commercial or not.
You probably don't need the transcribers permission as (s)he probably violatea copyrifht already, you need the original copyright holder's permission

Transcribing is not legal then without the original copyright holder's permission?? I really don't know much about it so that is why I thought downloading a transcribed song might be okay.

Download is legal, publishing (and that includes upload) is not.

IANAL, but if you purchase a copy, you can do with it as you please for personal use only. If you give the original to someone, then legally you are obliged to destroy the copies or keep them with the original rather than keep them for yourself. You also cannot distribute copies in any form for others. This includes making it public on MuseScore.com. Storing copies as private files are fine.

I don't understand how it is legal to download a transcribed song, if it is illegal to upload one.? I don't know much of how internet sharing of sheet music works.

You as the downloader have no responsibility to know whether the upload is legal. It is the responsibility of the uploader and host of the copyright material.
