After I add new notes to a line and hit the play button, the program sometimes skips some notes. This seems like it's not rendering the rhythms fast enough and just skips them...

In order to investigate, we would need you to attach your score and give precise steps to reproduce the problem. There are some known issues if autosave kicks in while playing, so do trying saving your score first before hitting Play to see if that helps.
